A scrubber is an industrial air pollution control device used to remove harmful gases, fumes, dust particles, and chemical vapors from exhaust air or industrial gas streams. Scrubbers play a vital role in maintaining environmental safety by preventing pollutants from being released into the atmosphere. They are widely used in industries such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, metal finishing, fertilizer plants, power plants, and wastewater treatment facilities where harmful emissions are generated during production processes. The working principle of a scrubber is based on gas-liquid interaction. In this process, contaminated gas passes through a chamber where it comes in contact with a scrubbing liquid such as water or a chemical solution. As the gas interacts with the liquid, pollutants are absorbed, neutralized, or trapped within the liquid. The cleaned gas is then released through a chimney or exhaust system, while the contaminated liquid is collected for treatment or disposal.
